Probal Rashid born in 1979 in Gazipur district, Bangladesh. He completed Master of Business Administration from Asian university of Bangladesh, after that he completed Diploma on Photography from Beg Art Institute of Photography. He has also completed Diploma on photojournalism from Pathshala (The South Asian Media Academy & Institute of Photography), and now as a professional photographer, he is working in Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University. He is interested in documentary and portrait photography.
He has participated in many workshops under nationally and internationally reputed photographers; Morten Krogvold, Peter Fryer and others. Those have helped him to understand various aspects of photography likely experimental techniques in photography, aesthetics of photography, documentary and portrait photography etc. His works have been published in many Bangladeshi national newspapers and magazines like The Daily Star, The New Age, The New Nation and The Independent.
He won various awards for his work. In 2010, International Year of Biodiversity Award organized by IUCN and UNDP, In 2008, ‘The 68th International Photographic Salon of Japan (Asahi Shimbun Award), In 2007 & 2008 awarded with Maati Imaging Bangladesh. In 2005 & 2007, he was awarded with ‘The International Inter University Photography Competition’. He was also awarded with Bangladesh Photography Society in 2003.
